Gertrude Dorothy Matry Dugas

GERTRUDE DOROTHY MATRY DUGAS Florence, S.C. Gertrude M. Dugas, 90, of Florence, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Commander Nursing Center . She was born June 5, 1920 in Norwich, CT. a daughter of the late Michael and Helen Pascuzzi Matry. She was educated in St. Mary's Catholic School, Norwich Free Academy, and Hartford Academy of Hairdressing. She was an active volunteer at St. Anthony's School and Church, the Manna House, Perpetual Adoration, and St. Anthony Seniors in Florence. Gertrude is predeceased by her husband, Albert A. Dugas who she married in 1942, and together they had 2 children, Elaine (Bill) Shea and Albert J. Dugas, who also preceded her in death. In addition to her daughter, Gertrude leaves behind a sister, Rose Leffingwell of Florence, a niece, Annie (Ray) Childers of VA; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. According to her wishes, Gertrude has been cremated. Her ashes will be buried along with her husband Al's later this summer in the family's New England Plot.
