GERTRUDE McNEILL CAMPBELL FLORENCE, SC GERTRUDE McNEILL CAMPBELL, 89, of Florence, died Friday, November 05, 2010 in a Florence health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Campbell was born in Robeson Co., NC a daughter of the late Walter and Annie Musselwhite McNeill.She graduated as an honor student from Florence High School in the Class of 1938 and attended Coker College in Hartsville.She was a member of the Florence Music Teachers Association and had taught piano for years. She was a member of Community Bible Fellowship where she was an organist for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Nicholas Ross Campbell. Surviving are her children, Nicholas Ross (Dominga) Campbell, Jr. of the Philippines, Howard Randolph “Randy” (Angie) Campbell of Hickory, NC, Gertrude Renette (Jimmy) Godley of Wilmington, NC and Margaret Rose (David) Sims of Florence; sister, Marian McNeill Hutto of Florence; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel.Burial will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the mausoleum chapel and other times at the residence of Margaret Rose and David Sims, 1942 Osprey Drive, Florence.
