H. Laverne Holloman

H. Laverne Holloman of Effingham, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was the son of the late Henry Ethridge Holloman and Alice Barbour Holloman Lane. Laverne was a member of Elim Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, playing softball, cooking, and gardening. He owned and operated Hollomans Custom Cabinets, Hub’s Grill and Grocery, and 5 Huddle House restaurants. He was also a deputy game warden for 20 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Helen (Mike) Wright and one grandson, Matthew Holloman. Surviving are his wife, Linda Holloman; son, Barry Laverne (Alger) Holloman; daughter, Tanya Holloman (Artie) McKnight; grandchildren, Mason and Madison McKnight, Sierra (Justin) Gainey; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Gant, Ava Gainey; sisters, Brenda (Mike) Duck, Diane (Glenn) Joyner. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday July 24, 2024, at Elim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 PM in the fellowship hall.
