Harry Vernon Edgerton

HARRY VERNON EDGERTON FLORENCE, S.C. HARRY VERNON EDGERTON, 82, of Florence, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 in a Florence nursing facility after an illness. Mr. Edgerton was born in Florence, a son of the late John William and Alma Smith Edgerton. He had retired in 1991 from Blanchard Caterpillar. He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church, later known as Eastside Christian Church. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are a brother, Tommy Edgerton of Florence; sister, Alma Fore of Florence; 5 grandchildren, Terra Edgerton, Jason Edgerton, Andrea Edgerton, Kiah Applegate and Travis Edgerton, all of California, and 8 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of Jack Edgerton, 118 W. Pocket Road, Florence from 6 – 9 PM Friday and at the funeral home from 11:00 – 12:00 noon Saturday before the service.
