Harvey Jerome Evans, Jr. (Jerry) passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Manor in Florence after a long illness. Jerry was born on February 23, 1954, in Kingstree, the son of the late Harvey Jerome Evans, Sr. and Sally P. Master. He was a graduate of Hebron High School and received his Bachelor and Masters of Education Degrees from Francis Marion University. During his career he worked at Pee Dee Regional Center of Disabilities and Special Needs, Florence School District One and eventually started and ran his own consulting business (Applied Consulting and Training Services). Jerry spent his whole career working with kids with learning disabilities and autism. He was a big Clemson fan, loved traveling, dancing, his family and his pets. He was passionate in his beliefs. Jerry was preceded in death by sisters, Jackie Graham and Frankie Juvik. Surviving are sister, Sally Evans of Jacksonville, FL and brothers, Steve (Robin) Evans of Kingstree, Mike Evans and Tom Evans of Jacksonville, FL. The family would like to thank Ed Campbell, Fran Meyers and Alice Pruett for their special friendship and help during Jerry’s illness. Thank you also to the special ladies who were Jerry’s caregivers, the Manor, and to McLeod Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
