Henry “Hank” Morris Anderson, Jr., 56, of Florence, South Carolina passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on 29 October 2021 at McLeod Hospice House.He died peacefully in his sleep.Hank was born on 20 April 1965 in Florence to Dr. Henry Morris Anderson, Sr. and Ann Sompayrac Anderson. Hank graduated from West Florence High School in 1983.Following graduation, Hank attended Clemson University, Coker College, and Francis Marion College.Hank graduated from Francis Marion in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.Hank attained his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 1991.Following law school, Hank served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable John Henry Waller, Jr.Following his clerkship, Hank practiced law with the Saleeby Law Firm in their Florence office.In 1998, Hank established the Anderson Law Firm in Florence.Hank provided his expert legal representation to individuals charged with criminal violations for over 30 years. Hank was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Florence where he served in various positions through the years.Having lived in Florence all his life, Hank was active in the community.Hank loved coaching his kid’s soccer teams and participating in all their activities.Hank was a member of the Theta Xi Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.Professionally, Hank was an active member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, licensed to practice in the United States Federal Court, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.Hank was the best son, brother, husband, and father anyone could ask for and was beloved and respected by everyone who knew him and will be dearly missed by all. Hank is survived by his wife Leah Holland Anderson and their four children, Emily Anderson Parnell and her husband Alan Richard Parnell of Greenville, North Carolina, Henry Morris Anderson, III, Sarah Catherine Anderson, and Charles Holland Anderson of Florence; parents Dr. Henry Morris Anderson, Sr. and Ann Sompayrac Anderson of Florence; sisters Ann McNeil Anderson of Florence and Catherine Anderson Wyse and her husband Joshua Paul Wyse, and their daughter Genevieve Catherine Wyse and son Elliot Nathaniel Wyse of Anderson, South Carolina; Father-in Law Charles Perry Holland, his wife Lois Ford Holland of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, brother-in-law Rustin Wesley Jones, his wife Brooke Jenkins Jones, their son Fletcher Wesley Jones and daughter Piper Scout Jones of Summerville, South Carolina; Mother-in-Law Sue Derham Hopke, her husband James Clarence Hopke of Columbia, South Carolina; brother-in-law Edgar Derham Holland, wife Gailene West Holland, and their son Gabriel Perry Holland of Camden, South Carolina. There will be an open visitation to all who would like to pay their respects at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, 2402 South Irby Street, Florence, South Carolina 29504 on 31 October 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Florence on 01 November 2021 at 4:00pm.A private family graveside Internment will follow.
