Homer Edwin "Ed" Edwards Florence, SC Homer Edwin "Ed" Edwards, 75, of Florence, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 in a local healthcare facility after an illness. Mr. Edwards was born in Wadesboro, NC, a son of the late Homer Gilmore and Mary Alene Teal Edwards. He was 1968 Boss of the Year at McClenaghan High School Decca Program.He retired as store operator of Piggly Wiggly at Coles Crossroads in Florence. After retirement he worked at New York Carpet World and Schofield Hardware. He loved working in his yard. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Elks Club and was also a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherrie Edwards Middleton; and by a brother, Rodney Edwards. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Ruth Moore Edwards; 3 daughters, Debra Edwards (Mason) Brunson of Florence, Robin Kaye Edwards (Edward) Smith of Durham, NC, and Ellen Edwards Atkinson of Hartsville; a brother, Gary (Linda) Edwards of Gastonia, NC; and by two sisters, Mildred (Ed) Drew of Macclesfield, NC, and Mary Elizabeth (George) Honeycutt of Longs, SC6 grandchildren, James andDustin Middleton, Christopher and Zachary Smith, Taylor andBryce Atkinson; and by 2 great-grandchildren, Isabellaand Christopher Smith. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8:00p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, P.O.
