Hubert O'Neal Hutchinson

Hubert O'Neal Hutchinson Florence, South Carolina Hubert O'Neal Hutchinson, 88, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in a local health care facility after an illness. Mr. Hutchinson was born in Effingham, a son of the late Adam Hartwell Hutchinson and the late Isabelle Hutchinson Trotter.He was a US Navy Veteran having served in WW II and worked at Southern Bell for over 40 years where he was a member of the AT&T Pioneers.He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club and a member of First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Leberta Cusack and Lucille McCain; three brothers, Willard, Lenward, and C.J. Hutchinson; and a son-in-law, Rufus Sherrill. Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Sara Hood Hutchinson of the home; two daughters, Peggy Sherrill of Southport, NC and Renee (Guy) Proctor of Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
