Inez Foxworth Powell Wade

Inez Foxworth Powell Wade, 99, of Florence, SC, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024. She is the daughter of the late Junius Preston Foxworth Sr. and Hessie Ellen Shackelford Foxworth. Inez was a long-time member at Saint Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Joy Club. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Organization. In past years she had worked with J.C. Penney, Belk, and Sears. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life of 26 years, Alfred Vernon Powell Sr.; brothers, Junius Preston Foxworth Jr., Dudley H. Foxworth, Herman Foxworth, Ernest Foxworth, Milton Foxworth, and Raymond Foxworth; and sister, Alma Lee Scott; son-in-law, Jack Young. She is survived by her son, Alfred Vernon “Sonny” (Sandra) Powell Jr.; daughter, Elaine Young; grandchildren, Michael R. (Melissa) Thigpen, Allen T. (Kelly) Thigpen, Tara (Howard) Holloman, Kimberly (Kim) Powell, Mel (Robin) Young and Jason (Wendy) Young; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their superb services in caring for their mother. The family will receive friends Friday, July 12, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund at 1629 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501.
