IRENE BISHOP OWENS SPIVEY WILLIAMS PAMPLICO, S.C. IRENE BISHOP OWENS SPIVEY WILLIAMS, 97, of Pamplico, formerly of Laurens, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, surrounded by her family at her step-son's residence after a long illness. Mrs. Williams was born in Greenville and had retired from J.P. Stevens in Laurens. She was a member of Dunean Baptist Church in Greenville. Surviving are her step-son, Merle Kenneth Williams and his wife, Joan C. Williams of Pamplico, two grandchildren, Paul F. Williams and Kendra E. Williams, her caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fulton and Nomie Gossett Bishop, by her husbands, Hunter Owens, Henry Duree Spivey and Walter Franz Williams, and a daughter, Betty Owens, who died at the age of seventeen. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 at Gray Funeral Home in Laurens.
