JAMES ELBERT HUDSON Effingham, S.C. JAMES ELBERT HUDSON, 86, of Effingham, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Hudson was born in Kingsburg, a son of the late Robert Stephen and Annie Benton Hudson. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he had retired as an electrician with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anastasia Edith June Hudson and a brother, John Henry Hudson. Surviving are 5 children; Steve Hudson, Brian Hudson and wife Peggy, and Angela Hudson, all of Effingham, Larry Hudson of Charleston and Randy Hudson of Pelion, S.C.; 1 brother, Albert Hudson of Charleston;2 sisters; Anna Hudson Butler of Charleston and Betty Hudson Peebles of Florence; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12. 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
