James Gordon Huggins

James Gordon Huggins, 78, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Huggins was born Cheraw, SC, the son of the late Josie Virginia Petty Huggins and Walker Manning Huggins, Sr. He served in the Army National Guard and retired in 1994 from Flav-O-Rich Dairy where he worked as a mechanic. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Walker Huggins, Jr., Vernon Huggins, and Sammy Huggins. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Sue Hutchins Huggins; daughter, Tammy Jo Keenan (Jimmy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-son, Kenny Chapman (Wanda) of Florence; two grandchildren; brother, Johnny Lynn Huggins; and sister, Betty Jo Johnson of Cheraw, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
