James Philip "Phil" Stephenson, Jr.

James Philip “Phil” Stephenson, Jr., 82, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Mr. Stephenson was born the son of the late Edna Mottern Stephenson and James Philip Stephenson, Sr. He was the Executive Vice-President of Stephenson Finance. Mr. Stephenson loved to read and play bridge. He was an active member of Elim Bible Church where he served as Treasurer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by step-son, Scott Munn, and by his brother, Bobby Stephenson. Surviving are his wife, Diane Winstead Stephenson; son, Philip (Cathy) Stephenson, III of Florence, SC; step-son, Brad (Dawn) Munn of New Zion, SC; daughters, Laura Stephenson and Susan Stephenson, both of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Brittney Stephenson Jones, Austin Stephenson, Parker Stephenson, Tanner Munn, Mitchell Munn, Carson Munn and Grace Munn; two great-grandchildren, Fletcher Floyd and Tommy Floyd; and sister, Kaki Mills of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
