Jarrott "Ted" Vause, Jr.

Jarrott “Ted” Vause, Jr., 93, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Mr. Vause was born the son of the late Bessie Hicks Vause and Jarrott T. Vause, Sr. He was a graduate of Elim-Oak Grove High School, attended Wingate College, and served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was the owner of Vause Construction Company, served with Florence County Recreation Department and 14 years on the Florence County Council. Mr. Vause served as music director at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church for many years, was a proud member of the Men’s Sunday School class, and spent numerous years singing tenor with several gospel quartets, with the majority of this time spent with The Sabers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vause is preceded in death by his grandson, Jamie Ham; five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Lou Campbell Vause; son, Jay (Jan) Vause of Timmonsville, SC; daughter, Tammy Vause Sharpe of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Megan (Rob) Sharpe, Arden Sharpe, and Sherry Ham Holladay; great-grandson, Andrew Holladay. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM - 8:00PM on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will take place at a later date at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
