Jerry Douglas Faile, 75, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. Mr. Faile was born the son of the late Willie Mae Craig Faile and William Coleman Faile. He graduated from Kershaw High School in 1967, from Extension University of South Carolina in Lancaster in 1969 and from MUSC in 1972, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He was a pharmacist for 43 years, working for Alberts Rexall in Sumter for 1 year, Professional Pharmacy for 1 year, Piggly Wiggly Pharmacy in Darlington for 1 year, Dixon Drug for 17 years, Winn Dixie Pharmacy for 10 years and Walmart Pharmacy for 10 years. He was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, was a Deacon and worked with Community Changers. He loved to piddle and could fix anything. He enjoyed working on small engines, fishing, the mountains and traveling. Mr. Faile loved kids, board games, watching TV, teaching Sunday School, and helping less fortunate children. He loved his Church and Church family and telling people of Jesus. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Faile and David Faile. Surviving are his wife, Velma Geraldine Gaymon Faile; son, Cameron (Erin) Faile; adopted children, Wendy (Reg) Weeks and Chad (Amanda) Wiggins; six grandchildren, Lilly, Kayden, Anna Coleman, Jay, Hunter, and Hailey; brother, Elton (Doris) Faile of Lugoff and sister, Deede Barber of Columbia; special nieces and nephews, and special friends, Joan Hicks, Frankie Tanner and his Sunday School Class family. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Mechanicsville Baptist Church Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at Mechanicsville Baptist Church Chapel on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
