Jesse Calvin Porter, Jr.

Jesse Calvin Porter, Jr, 75, of Florence, SC passed away Friday, November 8, 2024. He was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Jesse Calvin Porter, Sr. and Catherine Munn Porter. Jesse was the owner of JBN Office Equipment Company for 30 years. He was a US Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He was also a Shriner, a Mason, and a member of Sertoma, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devout husband and father and coached girls’ softball for his daughter Jennifer for many years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeannie Barrineau Porter; daughters, Andrea Jean Porter and Jennifer Lee Porter (Gene Boris, Jr.); grandchildren, Andrew Buss, Jesse “Chandler” Porter, Sophia-Catherine Porter, Autry Boris and Joseph Boris; great granddaughter, Paisley Mae Buss; brother, John H. Porter; and a niece, Christy Porter; a great niece and nephew; and many lifelong friends. The family will receive friends 1: 00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel.
