JESSIE NAOMI ARD BROWN EFFINGHAM, SC JESSIE NAOMI ARD BROWN, 85, of Effingham, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Brown was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Jessie and Lessie Hayes Ard.She was a member of Christian Assembly Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she and her husband had acted as custodians. She had retired from La-Z-Boy Chair Company. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her first husband, Freddie Willcox Turner and her second husband, Russell Samuel Brown, who died January 9, 2009; granddaughter, Tammy Darlene Flowers and siblings, Joseph Ard, Raymond Ard, Lillian Levonne Ard, LeRoss Ard, Billy Ard and Geneva Matthews. Surviving are her children, Fred (Nancy) Turner, Marie (Andy) Thomas, Nancy Wolfe, Sandy Prosser, and Jane (Johnny) Sweat, all of Effingham; 7grandchildren; Roy (Donna) Lowman, Bob (Lisa) Lowman, Jana (Raymond) Brewer, Sabrina Timmons, Chante` (Kevin) Richardson, Jennifer Parker and Rusty Sweat; 13 great-grandchildren; Brothers, Robert (Ann) Ard of Plant City, FL. and Otley Gale (Sheila) Ard of Grand Prairie, TX; sisters; Clara Johnson and Aggie Jean Dennis of Florence, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Christian Assembly Pentecostal Holiness Church.Burial will follow in Turner Cemetery in Effingham, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
