Jimmy Carroll Matthews

Jimmy Carroll Matthews, 87, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Mr. Matthews was born in Florence, SC a son of the late William McKinley Matthews and Minkey Lucille Broach.He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Chapter 1746, where he was a Union Steward, and worked for over 47 ½ years as a Machine Tool Analyst Shop Foreman.Jimmy was passionate about his work, loved gardening, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, who taught his boys how to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Fayne Quick; son, Timothy C. Matthews in 2018; and many brothers and sisters. Surviving are his sons, Dale M. Matthews of Milford, Mass. and Todd W. Matthews and his wife, Linda, of East Hartford, CT; brothers, Wesley Levonne (Joann) Matthews and Cecil Leroy Matthews; and a number of nieces and nephews. Burial will take place at a later date.
