Joe Martin Batista

Joe Martin Batista, 66, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Mr. Batista was born in Portugal a son of the late Viriato Batista and Natalia Batista.He was a former captain at Howe Springs Fire Department and had worked for the City of Florence for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Mario Batista and Victor Batista. Surviving are his wife, Marsha Kirven Batista; sons, Jesse (Kayla) Batista, Ethan (Courtney) Boseman, and Jason (Melinda) Batista; daughter, Rebecca Batista; grandchildren, Elena Batista, Melissa Carraway, Luke Boseman, Lilly Boseman, Evan Batista, Sabrina Batista, and Warren Batista on the way; brother, Fernando Batista, and sister, Anna Cardoza. Memorials may be made to Howe Springs Fire Department, 2229 E. Howe Springs Road, Florence, SC29505. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Friday, November 5, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Florence Memorial Gardens.
