John Caswell Morris, Sr.

JOHN CASWELL "J.C." MORRIS, SR. FLORENCE, SC JOHN CASWELL "J.C." MORRIS, SR., 79, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at his residence after a brief illness. Mr. Morris was born January 13, 1933 in Sardinia, SC to the late Jesse Winston Morris and Helen Morris Owens.He attended Black River High School in Gable, SC.He was a United States Army veteran, a Mason and Shriner and had retired from Atlantic Coastline as a Switchman. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his step-father, Richard Owens. Surviving are his wife, Louise Newsome Morris of Florence; sons, John Caswell (Becky) Morris, Jr. and Steve (Cathy) Morris, all of Florence; brothers, Carlisle (Roberta) Morris of Florence and Cecil (Connie) Morris of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Brandon Morris (Anthony) Ward, Mollye (Del) Baker, Robbin (Amber) Thompson, Heather Hicks and Carl (Constance) Bennett, all of Florence; great-grandchildren, Chase Pierce, Cameron Baker, McKenzie and Morgan Thompson, Carter Ward, Keith Powell, Garrett Poston, J.C. and Braxton Bennett, all of Florence. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC29202. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2012 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
