John Konstantinos Cholkas

John Konstantinos Cholkas passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born on May 21, 1929, in the village of Kalesmeno in Evritania, Greece. Mr. Cholkas was the husband of the late Stavroula (Voula) Cholkas and the father of one beloved deceased son, Tommy, and one surviving son, Angelo Cholkas. At a young age, Mr. Cholkas came to America in 1947 for a better life and greater opportunities. He was instrumental in bringing other family members to America in order that they may have a better life also. He worked as a restauranteur his whole life. He was part owner of Roney’s Cafe, part owner of the Sky View Drive-In Restaurant, following as the owner/operator of The Athens Restaurant with the support of his wife and children. He was a hard-working man with a good sense of humor, who loved life. He was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church since its inception. Funeral service will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church on November 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church at 2990 S. Cashua Drive, Florence, SC 29501.
