John Dunlap Hardy

John Dunlap Hardy Florence, SC John Dunlap Hardy, 46 of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at McLeod Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Hardy was born in Winter Haven, FL, a son of James Hardy and the late Nancy Gurnett Hardy.He was a retired Sheriff's Deputy in Key West, FL and was proud of his service to that state.John was a member of the Carolina Renaissance Faire and was known as John Broadfoot. He is preceded in death by his mother; his brother, William Hardy; and an infant sister, Mary Kathryn. Surviving are his wife, Amy Lynn Cunningham Hardy of the home; their faithful canine companion "Micah"; father, James Hardy; sister, Beth H. Fischer of St. Petersburg, FL; mother-in-law, Victoria Biggs Cunningham; father-in-law, Richard Cunningham; sister & bother in-law, Sarah Beth & IvanJacob Cunningham all of St. Clairsville, OH; a nephew, Ben Fischer of St. Petersburg, FL; aunt, Jackie (Lee) Smith of Darlington; cousins, Leland Smith, Scott Smith, and Julie Tomlinson; best friend, Crissie Smith; other family members, Christopher, Matthew, Richard , Dustin, Joey, and Zach. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Stoudenmire- Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund or to the Red Cross "Blood Drive" Division.Because of John's frequent blood donation, the family asks that you please donate blood in John's memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 28, 2011 and from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Friday, July 29, 2011 at the funeral home.
