John Wesley Eckert

February 16, 1962 — June 10, 2022

John Wesley Eckert, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, son and daughter on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was born in Sacramento, CA on February 16, 1962, and spent much of his life in the Los Angeles, CA area before moving to Florence, SC in 2004. John is the son of the late Wayne J. Eckert and Eleanor R. Griffeath Eckert of LaCanada, CA. He is survived by his wife of 29 years and love of his life, Sandra M. Mackey Eckert; son, Thomas W. Eckert; daughter, Isabella D. Eckert; best friends, Fred & Molly; brother, Jace Eckert, and sister, Brenda Hodges. A heart that has been broken, is a heart that has been loved, and grief is a reflection of that. John loved his family more than anything. He was the greatest example of what it means to be a loving father and husband. He was his children’s biggest fan whether it was in school, on soccer fields or watching dance recitals and volleyball, always telling them how proud he was of all that they did. John had many passions and experiences including traveling the world and sailing to Hawaii.Poetry and writing were his past times, as an avid reader and writer. John also loved music with a library that expanded across every genre you can imagine. John loved his family and fought for every extra moment to be there for milestones over the past two years. He left an impression on all who knew and loved him. With God’s blessings, John ‘s life was well lived, and he will always be remembered.“Love you more…Love you always.” Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of John W.
