JOHN J. "J.J." LAMB J.J. Lamb, 89, of West Columbia, SC stepped into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 04 November 2011.A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, 09 November 2011, 3:00pm, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, Florence, SC.Visitation will be one hour before the service.Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence. Mr. Lamb was born in Lake City, SC; he was the son of the late Reverent John James and Minnie Huggins Lamb.He had seven siblings who shared his life. He worked as a store manager with A&P for 33 years and retired as a department manager with K-Mart Corporation in 1998.Mr. Lamb was a Master Gardener who people sought out for his expertise with plants and flowers. Now he is enjoying Heaven's gardens. Mr. Lamb is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Lamb of West Columbia; daughter-in-laws Tass Lamb of Timmonsville and Debra Howell of Florence; three grandchildren: Matthew and Katelyn Lamb of Florence and Christie Lynch of Timmonsville; and four great grandchildren.Three daughters of the heart: Brenda Coker of Florence, Cecile Allison-Ard of Columbia, and Lynda Campbell of Darlington. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife: Katharine R. Lamb and their three sons: Phil, Johnny and Wayne Lamb all of Florence. The loves of Mr. Lamb's life were his wife, family, church family and friends.He was a follower of Jesus Christ who reached out to his fellow man to help them in both the good and bad times.He touched the hearts of many people through his love for the Lord. The family wishes to thank Drs. Ha, Kahn and Scott-Demonbreun, the medical and nursing staffs at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, for their loving care of our dad.We would also like to thank Agape Senior and Hospice Care for their compassionate care and assistance during a very challenging time.Thank each of you for the hope and sunshine you brought to our dad and our family.
