John Mckenzie

John "Johnny" McKenzie Florence, SC John "Johnny" McKenzie, 67, of Florence passed away at a Charleston Hospital after an illness. Mr. McKenzie was born February 28, 1944 in Florence County, SC, a son of the late Judson "Bill" and Juanita Adams McKenzie. He was a US Air Force Veteran, having served during Vietnam and attended Florence Darlington Technical College. Mr. McKenzie retired from Rainwater Gas & Oil Company, Inc. and was a director of operations for Rainwater Transportation, Inc. He attended Southside Baptist Church where he was a member and treasurer of the Shaw Sunday School Class. Mr. McKenzie was survived by his wife, Libby Frye McKenzie of Florence; children, Deborah (Stanley) Evans of Manning, SC, Cathy (Mitch) Streett of Florence, and Cleveland (Tanya) McKenzie of Silverdale, Washington; grandchildren, Brad (Anna) McKenzie, Stephanie (Renn) Gordon, Wyatt Streett, Cleveland McKenzie, Jr., Zachary McKenzie,Jessica McKenzie, Andrew Walters, Devin Walters, Chris Walters, and Brandy Walters; great-grandchildren, Matthew McKenzie, Haley McKenzie, and Frankie Perkins; brothers, Riley McKenzie ,Kirklen (Rachel) McKenzie, both of Lake City, Motty (Marie) McKenzie of New Zion; sisters, Angie (Ray) Coker, Alta (Donald) Mims, Gail (Neal) Driggers, and Shiralee (Leroy) Driggers, all of Lake City. Funeral Services will be held 11:00a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
