Joseph “Joe” Quin, 33, of Florence SC, passed away tragically, and unexpectedly the morning of Friday September 30, 2022. The cause of death being accidental overdose/drug induced homicide. End the stigma. End the silence. End the tragic and unnecessary deaths. Joe was born in New Rochelle, NY, the son of Dolores (Fertucci) Quin and Joseph F. Quin. At the time of his death he was a General Manager of the Smithfield Chicken and BBQ Lumberton NC store. His career in the restaurant industry began when he was a teenager, first cooking in his hometown diner and then cooking in every town in the 15+ moves he and Carrin shared over the years, eventually rising to management. In 2018, after 10 years of battling infertility, Joe and Carrin started their family with the birth of their first daughter, Gianna, settled and found stability, then bought their first and current family home in Florence in 2019. Joe and Carrin then became parents to Sofia and Andrew Joseph-Roy. Joe was not only the best father, husband, and son, but he also became the sole provider for the family after Gianna received a medically complex diagnosis at birth with a rare congenital condition, and enabled Carrin to become a full-time caregiver to their children to ensure Gianna receives the best medical care possible. Joe is predeceased by his best friend, Andrew "Drew" Uveges; by his Uncle Jack and Aunt Dottie Quinn; maternal grandfather, Walter Fertucci; paternal grandmother, Doris Maida; as well as the unborn children of himself and his wife. Joe is survived by the love of his life and wife of 11 years, Carrin Marie Quin (Rivera), his two “Little Princesses”, daughters, Gianna Marie and Sofia Annalise Quin, and his “Little Man” Andrew Joseph Roy Quin. He is survived by his parents, Dolores (Fertucci) and Joseph Quin; his sister, Anne Quin (Jon), nephews, Ryan Romer and Xavier Kassler; and mother-in-law, JeanMarie Edmund and her parents, Roy and Marie Edmund, all of whom loved Joe dearly. A public memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel on S. Irby St., Florence, SC. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1 – 2 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to his family (https://www.facebook.com/donate/872590944151155/?fundraiser_source=external_url) to support necessary care for the children. If love could have saved you, you would have NEVER died. Joseph John Quin Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Friend February 10, 1989 - September 30, 2022 So much in that little dash. There was so much more that should’ve been. We will love and miss you, forever and always.
