Jossie Poston Brown Florence, SC Jossie Poston Brown, 83, of Florence, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Brown was born in the Hannah Community, a daughter of the late E. Lucas and Jossie Maude Collins Poston.She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member and had served for several years as church treasurer. Mrs. Brown was a retired seamstress who loved sewing, loved life, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard M. Brown; a son, Willie Jerome Brown; and by a brother, Jerry Poston. Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons, Richard "Ricky" (Kay) Brown of Forest, VA, and R. Louie Brown of Florence;7 grandchildren, Angela (Richard) Jenkins of Bedford, VA, Scott (Heather) Brown of Florence, R. Lee (Caryn) Brown, II of Lynchburg, VA, Deanna (Jesse) Moore of Florence, Bradley L. (Jennifer) Brown of Lynchburg, VA, Douglas P. (Susan) Brown of Lynchburg, VA, and Jossie Elizabeth Brown of Florence; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jean P. McPherson of Florence, Mattie Fae P. Cagle of Florence, Muriel P. (Jethro) Hanna ofMyrtle Beach, and Patsy P. (Donald) Richardson of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 7-9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
