JUDD EDWIN FREEMAN TIMMONSVILLE, SC JUDD EDWIN FREEMAN, 81, of Timmonsville, SC died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Carolinas Hospital after an illness. Mr. Freeman was born in Montgomery, Alabama a son of the late Francis Cade and Ethel Marie Cain Freeman.He was a member of Elim Baptist Church where he was a member of the Berean Men's Sunday School Class.He retired from DuPont after 25 years of service.Some of his interests included his love of farming, the cabin at Santee, and loving his family. Mr. Freeman grew up in the Evergreen Community and attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church in his youth.He graduated from McClenaghan High School. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Judd Freeman and brother, William F. Freeman. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Connie Lee Freeman of Timmonsville; children, Connie Freeman Dean of Florence, Donald Phillip Freeman of Timmonsville and Betsy Carol Freeman of North Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Tonya Dean (Scott) Bayliff of Greensboro, NC and Ronald Justin Dean of Florence; great-grandchildren, Tyler Bayliff and Julius Bayliff, both of Greensboro, NC; siblings, Gerry F. (Alex) Hood of Florence and Earline F. Girard of Decatur, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, January 21, 2011 at Elim Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Elim Baptist Church Building Fund, 1303 Olanta Highway, Effingham, SC29541 or to the Florence Area Humane Society, PO Box 4808, Florence, SC29502. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
