Kathy Gainey

Kathy Haynes Gainey, 71, of Hartsville, SC, passed away on Monday, May 08, 2023. She was born in Florence, South Carolina, the daughter of the late John Henry Haynes and Nettie Todd Haynes. She loved gardening and raising farm animals. She and her husband loved traveling and in the spur of the moment would just get up and go. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Gainey; son, Michael Lee Gainey; and her sisters. She is survived by her son, Tommy A. Gainey (Donna) of Hartsville, SC; brother, King Haynes (Brenda); sister, Betty Haynes; grandchildren, John Michael Gainey, Alexander Gainey Jr., Kenny Gainey, and Kaitlyn Gainey; extended grandchildren, Emily Blackmon, Kyla Blackmon, and Rosie Lague. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service being held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. After burial family will receive friends at the home of Tommy Gainey at 420 Broken Bit Road, Hartsville, SC, 29550.
