KATIEE. "Mama Stell" SMITH FLORENCE, SC KATIEE. "Mama Stell" SMITH, 78, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Smith was born in Mendenhall, MS, a daughter of the late Alex Dan and Oljuar Abby Thames Conner.She was a member of Emmanuel Ministries Church and she loved Jesus. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edison Welburn Smith Jr. who died in1988. She is survived by her children, Rusty (Margaret) Smith of Florence; Edward Wando (Robin) Smith of Durham, NC; Sharon (George) Fleming of Florence; Loren Russell Smith of Florence; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lewis (Norma) Conner of Albany, GA;a sister, Myrtis Phillips of Florence; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Speed of Florence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 24,2011 at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
