Kenneth Wayne Clark passed away at home on Monday, August 12, 2024. Ken was born August 24, 1952 in Rock Hill, S. C., the son of the late Rembert Franklin Clark, Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Catoe. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Florence Schools graduating from McClenaghan High School. Upon graduation Ken joined the US Navy as fire chief and engineer where he served in Europe and in the US on the USS Vega and USS Donald Beary. After his service with the Navy, Ken joined the Merchant Marines where he worked until coming home to raise his two children. He later started his own business Alarm Plus which he managed for a number of years until his retirement. He worked hard all his life and made sure he always provided for his family. He had a love for anything electronics, fishing, photography and music. Ken loved his children dearly and especially his only granddaughter. Ken is survived by two children son, Kenneth Wayne Clark II (Amy); daughter, Lauren Nicole Clark; granddaughter Amelia Harris Clark, brother Rembert Franklin Clark III (Phyllis) and sister Susan Clark Poston (Jerry). He is survived by nieces and nephews: Carey Clark (Kelcey) Dickinson, Megan Clark (Terry) Allen, Jeremy Poston, Kristen Renee (Owen) Fraley, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is survived by his two uncles, Tom Catoe and Jim (Sadie) Catoe both of Lancaster, SC. In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by a nephew, Josh E. Poston. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 10:30-11:30 AM with the service to follow at 11:30 AM in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Florence National Cemetery.
