Larry O'Neal Evans

Larry O’Neal Evans, 75, of Florence, SC passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Dorothy Dowdy and John Ervin Evans. Larry was a member of Truth Chapel in Florence and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime Carolina Gamecock fan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, brothers, Kenneth Evans, Jr. and Teddy Evans, and brother-in-law, Billy Matthews. Surviving are a sister, Gloria Matthews; sister-in-law, Kathy Evans; nephews, Bobby (Sheila) Matthews, Jason (Ashley) Evans, and Eddie (Tia) Matthews; nieces, Susan Matthews, and Billie Joe Hood; and multiple great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 263 West Seven Mile Road, Pamplico, SC, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will greet friends and relatives after the service at the residence of Gloria Matthews.
