Larry Eugene Haddock

Larry Eugene Haddock, 77, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Haddock was born the son of the late Mildred Smith Haddock Gifford and Samuel Dewitt Haddock, Sr. He attended Effingham Church of God. He was a member of the Omar Shrine Temple for 50 years and was awarded the 50 year pin. He was a member of the Mecca-Hampton Lodge and the President of the Omar Dare Devils. He retired from Nucor/Vulcraft after 46 years of employment. Mr. Haddock enjoyed fishing and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a big heart and his grandchildren were his life. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Samuel “Sammy” Dewitt Haddock, Jr. Mr. Haddock is survived by his wife, Deborah Smith Haddock; daughter, Jessica (Charles) Wheeler Evans of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Jett Evans and Stella Evans, both of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Brenda Haddock Hipps of Waynesville, NC; brothers, Grady Haddock of Blackshear, GA, Dale Haddock of Lake Junaluska, NC and Donald Haddock of Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
