Laurance “Larry” Michael Heeter passed away at the Veterans Village in Florence, SC peacefully after a long illness. Larry was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Edna Wilkins. He then moved to Barberton, Ohio, where he graduated from Barberton Highschool. He then enlisted in the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was very proud of his military service. Larry enjoyed working on and detailing cars. He had many model cars, he put together on his down time. He was a retired OTR truck driver, and he saw much of the country that way. He also loved movies, especially old westerns with John Wayne. He tried to get to the shooting range as much as he could. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Terry Zurzolo, and his friend, Bruce Warner. He is survived by daughter, Andrea (Chad) VanPelt; son, Ken (Shaina) Higgins; stepdaughter, Heather (Joe) McClain; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, at Florence National Cemetery, 850 Stockade Dr. Florence, SC 29506.
