Lawrence “Terry” Singletary Kennedy, 83, of Florence, went home to be with the Lord after a short illness on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. He was born the son of the late Doris Singletary Kennedy and Lawrence G. Kennedy.He served in the United States Army Reserves.Mr. Kennedy was a member of Florence Baptist Temple where he served as an usher and a former member of Pamplico First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.He worked in the automotive industry (Ford) for 66 years. Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Coleman Kennedy; son, Teddy (RoseMary) Kennedy; daughters, Tammy (Ken) Ard and Paige (Lee) Burris; grandchildren, Jesse Ard, Mason Ard, Libby Ard, Thomas (McCall) Kennedy, Margaret Kennedy, Burns Gaskins, Emma Claire Gaskins, Graysen Burris and Holden Burris; great-grandchild, Jack Kennedy; and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Florence Baptist Temple.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Church.
