Leonard Calvin King

Leonard Calvin King, 74, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023. Mr. King was the son of the late Alice Ruth King and Roy Lee Tolley, he was also adopted by grandparents John Kyle King and Tola Aldridge King. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Florence Baptist Temple. Mr. King was a retired salesman with Superior Machine Company. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole King Smith; brothers, Don Tolley, Fred Tolley, Leroy Tolley; and sister, Barbara Sue Bennette; great-granddaughter Adeline Joy Butler. Mr. King is survived by his wife, Diane Walker King; sons, Leonard Calvin (Shannon) King II and John (Nicole) Thomas King; son-in-love, Norman Smith; brother, John Tolley; sisters, Margaret Bunch, Betty Fugate, Mary Tolley, Helen Dillon, and Paula Jean Fox; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Florence Baptist Temple Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
