Leurea Clarence Crawford

L.C. Crawford Florence, SC Leurea Clarence "L.C." Crawford, 83 of Florence, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 at a local health care facility after an illness. Mr. Crawford was born in Florence County, a son of the late Landy C. and Mattie McGee Crawford.He was a US Air Force Veteran having served during WWII.He was a former salesman for Swift & Co. for 38 years and was formerly associated with Darlington Packing Co.He was a member of Hampton Lodge #204, Omar Shrine, and Pee Dee Shrine Club.Along with his wife he was a member of the Hampton Ladies Club and the Eastern Star.Mr. Crawford was a member of Glendale Baptist Church now Eastside Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Doris Smith; and a brother, Willie Crawford. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Helen Benton Crawford of the Home; a daughter, Brenda Gail Newsome of Effingham; a sister, Lena C. Benton of Kingstree; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Mausoleum.
