LEWIS EARL CORDER FLORENCE, SC LEWIS EARL CORDER, 85, of Florence, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Corder was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Dewey and Irene Sellers Corder.He was a member of the Amity Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Body, the Omar Shrine and a member of the Retired Railroad Employees Club.He was also a member of the Florence Baptist Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, Ethel Schuyler Corder and a brother, Lewis Earl Corder. Surviving are his children, Andrew Corder, Ann Corder (Louis) Sheppard and Carol Corder (Brookie) Lane, all of Florence; grandchildren, Allen Johnson, Brook Lane, Brighton Lane, Blake Lane, Matthew Corder, Schuyler Corder, Jessica Corder and Carrie Ann Corder; brother, Andrew Corder of Florence; niece, Gail Coker of Sumter and special friends, Dr. Jon Docherty, of Florence and Craig, also of Florence. Memorials may be made to the Carolinas Hospital System, SICU, of Florence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Florence Baptist Temple.Burial will follow at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
