Lina Ruth Lyles Gardner

Lina Ruth Lyles Gardner, 90, of Florence, SC passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024. She was born in Johnsonville, SC, the daughter of the late John Amos Lyles and Lina Bell Pratt Lyles. Ruth was a member of Peace Free Will Baptist, was an avid bowler and a wonderful loving mother and homemaker. She loved flowers, birds and her daily soap operas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Merrill Gardner; brothers, Bill and Jennings Lyles; and sisters, Ruby King, Kate Teal, and Mary Lee Byrd. Surviving is her sons, Dennis (Diane) and Darryl (Nancy) Gardner; daughters, Donna (Carey) Benenhaley and Deneen Wooten (Mitch); grandchildren, Michela DuBose, Christopher, Jonathon and Phillip Gardner, Kara Benenhaley, Teagan Wooten, Carson Wootton; and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, 2024, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
