Linda Gail Chapman

Linda Gail Chapman, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Mrs. Chapman was born the daughter of the late Margaret Leary Holt and Thomas Irvin Holt. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL and retired as a Residential Manager with Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. Mrs. Chapman was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Sara Blanton Sunday School Class. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and volunteering at the church library. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her stepfather, Jack D. Chapman and husband, Charles Davenport Chapman. Mrs. Chapman is survived by her daughter, Shelley C. (Barry Funck) Snow of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, William (Cassandra) Turner and Caroline Snow; brother, Karl T. Holt of Raleigh, NC; half-brother, J. Gregory (Patty) Chapman of Woodinville, WA; sister, Paula (Col. Richard) Holt Spencer of Fairfax, VA and step-sister, Harriet C. (Thomas) Chiu of Midland, MI. Family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Commons Area of Central United Methodist Church. Cryptside service will follow at 2:30 PM Thursday at the Columbarium at the Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Gail had a personality many appreciated and had a huge love for friends, family and especially her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson Research, P. O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 because no one should lose physical and cognitive ability at the same time.
