Linda Gail Elmore

Linda Gail Elmore, 75, passed away August 16, 2022, at home after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s. McLeod Hospice provided comfort and support to Gail during her final months. She was born in Sumter County to Luther Mae and Lila Belle Elmore in 1946. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Thelma Tedder. Educated at Coker College, Gail began her 50-year teaching career in Florence District one, holding positions at McClenaghan High School, West Florence High School and at Poynor Adult Education. She is survived by her longtime companion, Harriet Whitlock, Harriet’s sons Dane and Edward, her beloved dog Katie MacDoodle and a host of friends. A family led celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM September 10, 2022, at Osbourne‘s on Warley Street.
