Lois Gibson Housand

Lois Gibson Housand, 94, of Florence, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. She was born in Toxey, Alabama a daughter of the late William Thompton Gibson and Josephine Todd Gibson.She was a member of South Florence Baptist Church and worked at Marlowe Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome Preston Housand; brothers, Earlie Gibson, Raymond Gibson, and Robert “Bob” Gibson; sisters, Suzy Sellers and Josephine Skelton; brother-in-law, John Housand; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Jackson, Ethyleen Daniels, and Lou Mae Housand. Surviving are her son, William “Buddy” Boyd Housand of Mayodan, NC; daughter, Mary Helen (Larry) Jones of Florence; grandchildren, Christy Jeffords (Tim Blalock), Ty (Dana) Jones, and Robert (Layton) Jones, all of Florence; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Murphy, Caitlin (John) Rano, Hannah Jeffords, Mary Claussen Jones, and Tyler Jones; six great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Lilly Shelley Strickland of Mount Olive, SC; brothers-in-law, Thurmond Housand and Walter Housand; sister-in-law, Ovileen Godly. Memorials may be made to South Florence Baptist Church, 2720 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.Entombment will be directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
