Lonita Hewitt West

Lonita Hewitt West, 76, of Florence SC, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Lacy B. Hewitt and Jessie Bell Haynes. Lonita was a member of Florence Baptist Temple for 44 years and was the kitchen manager for the church. She was married to her loving husband, Kenneth West, for 56 years. She also worked a number of years at Eat More Lunch. She loved her family fiercely and always put others before herself. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Kenneth “Kenny” R West, Jr. (Michelle) of Darlington, SC; daughter, Amber West Huntley (Preston) of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Craig, Alex, and Chris West and Faith and Jacob Huntley,; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Bella, Lizzie, Abby, and Addi West; and a niece and nephew that she considered grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Isgett; brother, Lacy “Bucky” Hewitt (Jackie) and Larry Hewitt (Deborah); sisters, Janice Hewitt and Susan Isgett. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Florence Baptist Temple at fbt.org or The Parkinsons Foundation at www.parkinson.org Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 12th in the Chapel at Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC. A Church led memorial service will immediately follow in the Chapel at 11:00 AM.
