Lorraine Byrd Florence, SC Lorraine Byrd, 74, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Ms. Byrd was born in Willimantic, Conn., a daughter of the late Robert and AuroreDuMais Blais. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She had been employed with WalMart as an Associate in the Garden Center and was also a Homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Blais. Surviving are two sons, Redden P. Byrd, IV of Florence, Michael G. Byrd of Colorado Springs. Co; two daughters, Tina (Benton) Henry of Latta and Pam (Paul) Jennings of Columbia; sister, Lucille Tucker of West Palm Beach, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Karla Jennings, Kristopher Jennings, Lori Byrd, Michael Byrd and Elizabeth Henry; 2 great-grandchildren, Taylor Martin and Brycen Martin. A Christian Wake service will be held from 7-7:20 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2011 with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
