Louise Inabnett Peck, incredible wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful friend to many, passed away peacefully among friends and family in Florence SC on November 1, 2023, at age 81. She was born to George and Ruth Inabnett on September 21, 1942, in Charleston SC. She married Gerald Peck, the love of her life, on August 31, 1963. Together, they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary leaving a tremendous testimony of sacrificial love, devotion and commitment to the vows they made to each other. Together Louise and Gerald had two children, Chris (Kathy) Peck and Vicki (David) Walker, four grandchildren, Jessica Campbell (Troy), Kaitlyn Holland (Robbie), Alexander Peck (Caroline) and Ian Peck, three great grandchildren Isabella Helms, Barron Campbell, and Brynlee Campbell. Louise devoted much of her life in service to her community. As program director for the City of Florence for 23 years she had the opportunity to serve children, teens, seniors, and those with disabilities by providing a multitude of activities, events and outings for the Florence community she served. She could also be found serving on the front lines of the Special Olympic Games locally, regionally, and nationally. One of her greatest impacts on the lives of others was her pioneering work in the world of Gymnastics. In 1968, she started one of the first programs in the state of South Carolina, and by 2014, having coached thousands of young girls, Louise was inducted into the Region 8 Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Over the course of 40 + years she served as head coach for Florence Gymnastics and was a well-respected National Gymnastics judge. She served faithfully as SC AAU District Chairman while also holding board positions for SC USA and SC NAWGJ Gymnastics for many years. But the far-reaching impact she made on countless individual lives of the gymnasts she inspired and mentored, not just in her own gym but in gyms across the region, is one of her greatest legacies. Through her leadership, creativity, and tough discipline, many talented young women discovered life lessons of grace, confidence and determination while also learning to overcome their fears. So many lives have been forever changed and touched by her passion for gymnastics and the joy she brought to all who knew her. As fiercely as she devoted herself to the gymnastics world, she was just as devoted to her family and dear friends, loving every minute she was given with them. She was ever adventurous and loved to travel and discover new things. By far, her happiest place to relax and unwind was the beach. From early morning shelling to having a seafood feast with her family, she absolutely loved the salt water and waves. Those of us she leaves behind, know that Her’s was a life that was lived well and fully, and we have each been blessed to have shared in her passions and her legacy of love, faith, family, and friendship. Our world is dimmer without her here… but may we each commit to carry her light forward serving and loving just as she did. Her shoes can’t be filled– but we can follow her example and faithfully serve in the places the Lord has given each one of us to serve Him. Well done, Louise! Good and faithful servant.
