Louise Turner, 98, of Florence, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. Ernest, her loving husband, was there to greet her. What a wonderful gift it was for him to see Louise after 18 years. Louise was a wonderful mom, devoted wife, talented knitter, and a great cook. She was a great influence to those who knew her. She was also someone you could tell your problems to, but she rarely told you what to do. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved watching sports, drinking Coca-Cola, and eating chocolate. She enjoyed exercising and spending time with friends. Louise was born in Winnsboro, SC on October 11, 1925. She was the daughter of the late David Robert and Jeannette Pope Boulware. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Louise is survived by her loving family; children Terry (Pene) Turner, and Rhetta (Hugh) Calcutt, four grandchildren, Brantley (Shelby) Turner, Pierce Turner, Brittany (Zachary) Bennett, Toby (Grace) Calcutt; five great-grandchildren, Cole Turner, Finn Turner, Turner Bennett, Wells Bennett, and Jackson Calcutt; sister, Elizabeth Lawson. Special thanks to the staff at Benton House for the wonderful care given. She was treated like one of their own family members. Jackie Kennedy, Carla Looney, Jess Merriman, Annie Simmons, Margie Bridges, Cindy Stokes, and Sheron James. The family is grateful to Kim Jacobs and everyone at Benton House who cared for Louise. The family also wants to thank Amedisys Hospice and their staff, especially Brooke Creel, Shelia Brown, and Jimmy Weaver. Their advice and guidance was such a comfort during this time. Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any charity of your choice, Calvary Baptist Church 915 Cherokee Rd, Florence, SC 29501, or Amedisys Hospice 500 Pamplico Hwy D, Florence, SC 29505.
