M. W. "MUTT" McKNIGHT FLORENCE, SC M. W. "MUTT" McKNIGHT, 82, of Florence, died Thursday, July 07, 2011 at his daughter's residence after an illness. Mr. McKnight was born in Darlington, SC a son of the late Rushton and Layton Driggers McKnight.He was a retired US Army veteran having served during the Korean War.He was a Green Beret and had taught Adult Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Letha McKnight. His children include, Matt (Terri) McKnight of St. Louis, Missouri, Joe (Ronney) McKnight of Camden, SC, Cathy (Rusty) Evans of New Zion, SC and Missy (Wayne) Menard of Florence; sisters, Dean Wynn of Georgetown, SC and Jenny Williamson of Darlington, SC; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at New Hope Church, 10327 Salem Road, New Zion, SC.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Tri-County.
