Madelyn Cox Cole

Madelyn Cox Cole, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Mrs. Cole was born the daughter of the late Solomon Joseph Hewitt and Zelia Benton Hewitt. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and attended regularly before her health declined. Mrs. Cole worked in retail clothing for 32 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Weston Cox Sr., the father of her children, and her second husband, Jackson Cole, also, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Cox (Robbie) Knight; son, Carl Weston Cox Jr.; grandchild, Natalie Knight (Robert) Hardy; great-grandchildren, Landon Hardy and Sullivan Hardy; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Frank Monroe Scholarship Fund at the Florence Baptist Temple, P.O. Box, 12809 Florence, SC 29504. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the funeral home chapel.
