Margaret Ayleen Wiebener Gainey

Margaret Ayleen Wiebener Gainey, 87, of Florence, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. Mrs. Gainey was born in Alva, OK, a daughter of the late Helen Champ Wiebener and Orville Wiebener.She was a long-time founding member of Unity Baptist Church and a long-time retired employee from AT&T.Mrs. Gainey was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Arthur Gainey; and two sisters. Surviving are her children, Helen Gainey (Stephen) Flounders of Travelers Rest, SC, Cynthia Gainey (Donald) Purvis of Elon, NC, John Wiley (Debra) Gainey of Florence, SC, Mark Andrew (Janet) Gainey of Florence, SC, and Carol Gainey (Donnie) Weatherford of Darlington, SC; grandchildren, Chris Purvis, Israel Flounders, Nathanael Flounders, Benjamin Flounders, Sarah Flounders Burick, Kristina Gainey Smith, Jordan Weatherford, Dale Weatherford, Noah Hagerman and Amanda Griffin; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
