Margaret Langston Carter

Margaret Langston Carter, 88, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House. Ms. Langston was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of the late Aline Gasque Langston and Lide Ervin Langston. She worked as a Kindergarten Assistant in the Florence Public Schools and was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and she sang in the choir. She loved singing and flower gardening. She was a great cook and loved her family very much. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Trellis Carter; sister, Virginia Anderson; and brothers, Gerald Langston and David Langston. Surviving are sons, Stephen Carter (Miriam) of Florence, SC, Ben Carter (Kelly) of Dallas, NC, Scott Carter (Mona) of Timmonsville, SC and Kevin Carter (Candy) of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Katie Larsen (Brandon), Sarah Carter Wiggins (Ryan) Chandler Carter, Abby Carter, Harrison Carter, Margaret Olivia Carter, and Holden Trellis Carter; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Grace Larsen and Joel Trellis Wiggins. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Southside Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Florence National Cemetery.
